Comic Con 2007 Wednesday Pictures

Heroe's booth was one of the most crowded, and small! But it had the original paintings from the show, and on Saturday, on Hall H the whole cast was there.. woohooo! (yes I got pictures! I just need to fix them first)

Another beautiful booth was the promo for the movie The Golden Compass, very pretty, original props, later you'll see more pictures!

This was on top of another booth, it's big and it's amazing we could get a nice picture! With all the people around, this came out pretty decent.

This is You Know Who... and if you don't know You Know Who... then.. you are not a Harry Potter Fan.

This Transformer is bigger than me, very very impressive and I loved it, and I even loved more I could take a nice decent picture of it! Don't you think?

Comic Con 2007 Wednesday Pictures

Picture on the left, all made out of leggos, and C3PO spoke, very very well made and exciting, picture on the right.. I wanted to take it alone, but people kept coming in for pictures and I asked sis to take one with me, that way NOBODY will be on the way and I could have a picture! Nice huh?

Keep in mind that it was SO hard to take a picture without people bumping into you, and you trying NOT to move and take them fast before people got in the way of the picture, or bump you.... yeah, it is that hard.

Comic Con 2007 Wednesday

Finally the big day had arrived, the year's highlight, the most expected time of the year (well at least for me!) Comic Con! Oh yes! It's that time of year again where your feet disguise as indians and start sending "signals" (boom boom boom get it?) by the end of the day, or earlier, time of the year again when you don't sleep too much and party until your feet say no more. Yes.. heaven!!

Wednesday was preview night, doors open late, but we had to go and form a line earlier to get our badges, we met our friends Xenedra and Kalpatra for lunch over at Horton Plaza, I cannot say enough good comments about them, they are so sweet, nice, kind, funny... I feel so lucky and honored to have them as friends.

Anyway, we had lunch and we went to get our badges and wait in line to get in. As always, when one comes in, the adrenaline starts to pump up, looking at all the HUGE exhibits, lights, music, really a sight to see! Although every year it has been more crowded and crowded, it's amazing that this year was sold out! I'm glad we bought our tickets last year!!

We saw the schedule, who was going to be on the panels and what were we (sis and me) going to do and looking at all the events, we were only going to have time for shopping on Wednesday and Sunday, of course one has to shop early, so you get the good stuff first! Luckily we found everything we wanted (WOHOO!) and a bit more.. hehe (yeah, yeah, you know how it is, I'm just going to buy this... and then.. ooh look! I want this! And ... oooh! Just this! hehe) so we got all our shopping done on Wednesday, and we took some pictures.

Preview night it's from 6 to 9 pm so we were browsing and shopping and took some pictures! They are on the next post.

Star wars!

As most of you know, I'm love Star Wars and when I found out that there were these, I told my sister to keep an eye on them! So I can take a picture!! And, one Sunday she took me where these were (there are not a lot of them in here!) and, laughing I took the picture, I couldn't be in costume... I was blushing even then, but I had a lot of fun!

Opera

Yeah yeah, I know what you are thinking... what is this girl talking about now? She cannot like Opera! She is too much into her pop music!!!

Well, you are wrong! Actually I like classical music, some opera too, and nice relaxing music... makes me think if it's because I'm going to turn forty... but then again, I think of all the young composers and musicians and I just shake my head and say.. nah.. they are younger than me.

Why am I mentioning this? Because this week was very special, this week was a very cultural and oh so much fun week.

Tuesday we went to the Cultural Center here, where a chorus of musicians from Austria performed Carmina Burana from Carl Orff, I will be honest and tell you that I thought I was going to be bored, specially since there are some areas I am not too fond off, but, how wrong I was.. it's so impressive such an addrenaline rush listening to them, and live and... oh yes, very impressive, I had a wonderful time and I would go watch them again and again.

Saturday, we went to San Diego, The San Diego Opera is showing some operas at the movie theater, I think it's a wonderful oportunity for people like us who cannot attend the opera. On February we went to watch one from Placido Domingo, and to my point of view NOBODY can top Placido Domingo.. NOBODY. This last Saturday was specially exciting since they showed The Barber of Seville live from the Metropolitan Theater in New York, yep! Live Opera from New York! I find that very exciting, they showed backstage and live interviews, but most of all, it was so SO SO much fun and those voices were SO impressive!! SO beautiful that not even the audiance from NY were cheering but we were cheering too at the movie Theater!! It was so amazingly pretty, so awsome, that I still haven't been able to get over it yet.

One of these days I will have to go to New York and see one of these wonderful Operas.

New Year

Another year is coming to an end, and thank God many good things came with it. Christmas was not bad at all, I love when my parents start talking about how it was when they were small.
It makes you think how things have changed, and how we always live in a hurry. For example, how my dad spent Christmas with my grandmother, they ate turkey alright, but, my grandma used to buy the turkey three weeks before Christmas, she got it fat and on the 23th. she started preparing the turkey (yes the 23rd), they made everything by hand. I bet that would have tasted so delicious!

Right now it's so comercial, everything is so comercial, and if you don't beleive it, just go to a shoppnig mall or supermarket, they are starting to sell Valentine's Day stuff, yes, Valentine's Day, on the 26th. they were starting to take down the decorations, how about New Years?!?
Just for a moment on New Year's Eve, sit down and reflect on what you have done this year, what you have achieved and be thankful of what you have, and pray for the ones who are not so furtunate than us.

Hope you have a happy and healthy 2007

Short time

Holidays are coming, and my days are not getting any longer, between work and tasks at home, I've had not much time to be at the computer, and the only time I have, I rather play Guild Wars.

My friend Kyle (in game name) recommended the game, dad's b'day was coming so I showed the internet site to him, we liked it, so he could not wait and bought it before his b'day, sis and me were watching while he was playing and we loved it so much that we bought a copy for us. So as the good sisters that we are, we shared our playtime, soon, we found it was not enough time for her or for me, since we went further in the game, the missions and quests lasts longer, so, what should we do to fix that? Dad bought a new computer so his oldie but goodie computer was sitting there... sis bought a desk, dad bought a new flat monitor for him and I had his monitor, we got a keyboard and a mouse and of course, another copy of Guild Wars (yes I know, we should've gotten a disccount *laughs*) and we hooked the three computers to internet!!

Now I know you must thing "this girl is crazy! Obsessed!" well, you might say that, but thanks to the game I've met wonderful friends, wonderful people, but also, the thing that I enjoy the most, it's to play with my family, I know most don't have the same priviledge, and I appreciate that I can do it. Sometimes we just do our own thing or sometimes we play together, but since the three computers are very close, we are still together.

Now... if only I can get my mom to play.... *sigh*

Star wars!

This year there was a huge show on Star Wars , yes I love Star Wars! And if, whoever does not recognize this car, is not my age LOL, at the end of the day, here is a pic of the "little mob" that was outside, you cannot see it a lot from here, but it looked like Saturday! HUGE mob!

Comic Con Thursday

We were able to browse around early on the booths, we found lots of great goodies, more than last year. I must say now that everytime we go to Comic Con (12 years in a row now) we have to get up very early, cross the border and get there at 8ish or so, to make a line to go in to what we want to see, Saturday is the most exhausting/fruitful day of all. Saturday we have to be at the Convention Center by 7 am so we can find parking downstairs, before by 4 pm one of us has to go upstairs to start to make a line for the Masquarade, that is A MUST to be in, there is a lot of laughter and clapping and screaming but also some costumes are so jaw dropping!!! We always leave by 11 pm or so, by that time we are so tired and we still need to go back for some rest so we can go on Sunday, yes, it's a marathon but it's so much worth it!

Here are some pics, oh yes, I loved the batman so much I had to go back and take a pic with me on it, it was HUGE, and yes, it took a bit of time to take the pic so we can stop people to cross and let sis take the pic.

Comic Con Day 1

Some pics for the comic con that I could take without people bumping into me *laughs* (yes the Batman is all Leggo's wow)

Comic Con

Okay finally I get to publish my first day at Comic Con, yes I know I have taken a lot lot of time to do it, but again, I will only post one day since I have chores to do.

Preview night:
AAAH! And they said it was going to be easier this year.. we wasted a lot of time trying to get the right people to get our badges printed out!! But finally we went in, I remember 4 years ago it was almost empty, and one could walk easily, at leasure take your time to look at things pretty acceptable. Well this year.. I think people started to think that they were the only ones at preview night... including me *laughs* so, yes it was packed! But it also was AWSOME, of course what we went to look at first was the Guid Wars booth, we went in, and told them our guild was Guild of the Week # 50, they were pretty happy about it, we played the game for a bit (yes, we HAD to play the game even at comic con) and the game had some pretty awsome stuff that we didn't know it existed, they gave us pins and a huge poster... we were haaaappy!

Halloween

Well since this is the first day of October, I thought I could start by showing you my two angels that are ready for Halloween. Yes I am a showoff but I think they look adorable.

Hobbies

I have new hobbies, who says life should only be one hobby right? But , can you say playing a computer game with friends in real life a hobbie? Well let's just call it a "friendly desease"

Why am I calling it a desease? Because it spreads like it, for example.

A friend introduced me to www.guildwars.com
so dad and me love to play computer games, so I introduced the webpage to my dad, which he loved and bought the game.

Sis and me looked at it and said WOW! And we bought one, we shared that account and shared our time on the computer, which we decided it was not enough, so, we bought a new desk and plugged in one of our old computers and VOILA! We have another computer! And then we bought another game so now dad, sis and me can play together, I must mention that sis did not like computer games at all, but she is hooked on thisone.

Ooh but that's not all! You thought it was over? Nop! Dad bought a copy for my brother, and ooh la la! He liked it! Which he went ahead and told his neighbor, which he bought a copy and he has almost finished the whole game.. I said almost becuse there is just so much to do, and it's so much fun!

You see where I am getting at? Yep! It's "spreading" and with that game I have made tons of very good friends and I'm really happy to spend my time laughing and enjoying myself with my family and friends.

Busy year

Well after the small accident of early this year, things have gone pretty well, and I'm thankful that I have just been having an awsome year.

Things to come on my blog?

Niece coming for a visit
Taking Niece home
Comic Con

And other stuff that I will forget right now as always.

I want to say a special HIIIII to my friend who always always takes time to write me a little postcard, no, not by email but by HAND, he actually takes the time to send me a postcard he made asking how I am or why I haven't updated my blog, I am ashamed of myself and if I could I would just dig my head in my backyard garden, but since I cannot, I will just say a huge THANK YOU and I promise little by little I will be making more entries, I have my pics ready on this computer and as soon as I can, I will start writing them.

Amazing things

It's amazing how your life can change in just a blink of an eye.

I was recovering from a bad cold back in January (knocked me more than a month!) and then, all of the sudden, I decided to "go down and kiss the floor" (that's all I am going to say as it's rather embarrassing) and hurt really bad my right knee and left index finger.

Some Xrays and nothing broken thank God, but, a month later I wasn't getting better, so I went to another doctor, and he told me that the ligaments were very damaged from both knee kaff and left index finger.

A lot of time w/o beeing able to type, to use the computer a lot, to do NOTHING! It was frustrating, it even hurt while walking. Right now I still can't bend my finger all the way and it hurts, but doctor said I need to excercise to get it better, and if in two weeks the swollen won't come down, I may have to have minor surgery...

Oh great huh? :P

17 January 2006

Finally

Well, finally things *seem* to get back to normal, I have just spent the whole month of Dec. and two weeks of January sick, that's great huh? :P but -weather permiting- I'll be in here more often!

My holiday was excellent, (except beeing sick) it was a lot of fun, I really liked it. Santa brought me a DVD recorder!! Yaaay! Now I can pass all my Anime into DVD'S!!! That's awsome :)

I haven't gone to the movies, and I really want to go out and have some fun, hopefully I can go soon!!

Ok, I'm at the office, so I'll sign off for now..

29 December 2005

Almost New Year!!

Well, again I haven't been able to post, but this time not for lack of time, but lack of health!!

It seems that my body loves to get sick every year, it's been almost a month and I can't get rid of this cold.

Christmas was really really nice, can't complain, beeing with family is always nice.

I hope everything went very well with you!

Movies!

Well, after watching twice Harry Potter (not enough times) and thinking to myself (it's a movie, don't compare to the book) I got an email saying that the movie theater is selling Narnia tickets for next Friday!

I didn't want it to happen like last time with Harry, so, I ventured the Xmas traffic and went and bought Narnia tickets for next Friday at 9 pm!! Yaaay! I sure can't wait to see this movie.
